Egy Kalocsa melletti - Géderlak nevû - községben
született. Már ifjú korában alakított
egy helyi zenekart, ahol dobolt, majd késõbb gitározott.
Mezõtúron katonaként játszott egy együttesben,
majd Kiskunhalason telepedett le. Szinte valamennyi kiskunhalasi zenésszel
játszott különbözõ formációkban,
a kilencvenes évekig. 1988-tól újságíró,
négy könyve jelenik meg 1994-ig. 1995-ben egy TOP JOY
nevû együttessel felveszi elsõ önálló
albumát - Egy érzés - majd rövid idõn
belül a másodikat is, - Szervusz, Hazám - címmel.
A Turcsány Tamás, Pitz Róbert, Valkai Attila
és Czeglédi István összetételû
banda akkor tér vissza skandináviai vendégszereplésébõl,
de nem tudnak kiugrani, így az útjaik szétválnak.
Posztobányit New Yorkban megérinti a country "szele"
és 2001-ben önálló country albumot ad ki
- Mindig visszatér az álmod - Route 50 címmel.
Boldizsár Péter jazz-zongorista és Steve Szalay
billentyûs - gitáros a sassion zenész, akik feljátsszák
vele az albumot. Egy Ír zenész - John Allen - az angol
nyelvû kiadáson Johnny Allen - Magyarországon
felénekli a Route 50 angol változatát, így
van külföldi kiadás is. Posztobányi verseit
a liverpooli Paul Robert Crowson fordítja angolra. A zeneszerzõ-szövegíró-énekes
menedzsere a kezdetektõl fogva: dr.Kastyják János
ügyvéd. Bár itthon minden fellépésén
nagy sikert arat, nem csap le rá a showbiznisz. Külföldi
fellépéseirõl is pozitívan írnak.
A country anyagában emléket állít szülõfalujának
is. A NET-rõl nagyon sokan töltik le számait. Stílusa
a country és a western keveréke, speciális ízekkel
és a mûfajban szokatlan, kiváló verseléssel.
2002-ben saját gondozásában jelenik meg a Kiskunhalasi
Könnyûzenei Almanach címû CD, melyen olyan
mûvészek szerepelnek, akik halasi kötõdésûek,
többek között Miklósa Erika, D.Nagy Lajos, Trunkos
András és Daczi Zsolt. Ezen az albumon Posztobányi
három számmal van jelen.
Most újabb albumon dolgozik. Ugyanolyan megoldásban,
mint az elõzõ Route 50, ennek is zenéjét
és szövegét Posztobányi írja és
a régi zenésztársak is közremûködnek
a stúdiómunkákban. Hasonlóképpen
most is lesz angol verzió az Ír Johnny Allennel.

He
is born in Géderlak, a village next to Kalocsa. At a very early
age, he founds his first group, where he is the drummer and later
the guitar player. When enlisted in the Hungarian Army, he plays in
a group in Mezõtúr, but later he settles in the town
of Kiskunhalas. He practically plays with almost all the musicians
of the town at one point of time, in various formations up to the
90's. He starts working as a journalist in 1988 and he publishes four
books until 1994. In 1995 he records his first album (A feeling) with
a group called TOP JOY. Soon after this, follows the second one with
the title Hello My Country. The band including Tamas Turcsany, Robert
Pitz, Attila Valkai and Istvan Czegledi just returns from a tour in
Scandinavia; however, they brake up soon after their return. Posztobanyi
is deeply influenced by country music during his visit in New York,
and upon returning from there in 2001, he publishes his country album
- Your Dreams Always Come Back - (Route 50). Peter Boldizsar, a Jazz
pianist and Steve Szalay, pianist are his help during the studio recordings.
An Irish musician - Johnny Allen - sings the English version of the
songs on the album Route 50, and the recordings take place in Hungary.
Therefore, there is a foreign version of this album as well. Posztobanyi's
lyrics are translated into English by a poet from Liverpool, Paul
Robert Crowson. From the very beginning, the manager of the composer
and singer Posztobanyi is Dr, Janos Kastyjak, a lawyer and friend.
Although Posztobanyi gets significant success in Hungary, the showbiz
in his own country does not seem to be that interested. His foreign
appearances are also well-received in the media. In his country album,
he remembers his home village, too. There are a large number of people
who regularly download his songs from the internet. His style can
be best considered as a mixture of country and western - with special
twists; and, quite unknown in this business, an outstanding quality
of lyrics. A CD published in 2002, which presents the musicians who
are related to the town of Kiskunhalas (among many are Erika Miklosa,
Lajos D. Nagy, Andras Trunkos, Zsolt Daczi) is put together under
his guidance and care. He has three of his songs published on this
CD. Presently, he is working on a new album in the same way as before,
in that he writes both the lyrics and the music, and many of his old
musician friends are participating in the studio recordings. Like before,
now it's also planned to record an English version with Johnny Allen.
